At this year’s Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES 2025), our Managing Director, Felix Ekundayo, joined a panel discussion focused on the role of domestic gas in driving industrialisation, enhancing energy access, and fostering economic growth across Africa.

Held at the Abuja Continental Hotel on February 27, 2025, the session brought together top industry leaders to explore how Nigeria’s vast gas resources can be leveraged for sustainable development.

Other distinguished energy leaders joined our MD, including Mr Ed Ubong, Director of the Decade of Gas Secretariat, Mr Biodun Afolabi, Executive Director of strategy, Business, and asset Management at TotalEnergies, Mr Effiong Okon, Managing Director of Anoh Gas Processing Co., Mr Nath Oyatogun, Managing Director of ASPEN Energy Nigeria Ltd, and Mr Olalekan Ogunleye, EVP of gas and new Energies at NNPC Limited.

With Nigeria’s commitment to the Decade of Gas initiative, the country is at a pivotal moment where domestic gas utilisation can unlock new opportunities for industrial growth, energy security, and sustainability. The panel delved into:

  1. The role of gas in reducing reliance on expensive diesel and unstable power grids
  2. Policy and investment strategies to accelerate domestic gas adoption
  3. How gas infrastructure projects, like our tri-fuel terminal, can improve energy access
  4. The need for strategic partnerships to bridge funding gaps and drive gas-led industrialisation

As discussions at NIES 2025 shape the future of Nigeria’s energy landscape, one thing is clear: domestic gas is a game-changer. By investing in infrastructure, fostering collaboration, and ensuring policy alignment, we can accelerate industrialisation and build a more sustainable energy ecosystem.
